GH Secretagogue · Lot AP-24-I0402
C38H49N9O5 · 711.85 Da · CAS 170851-70-4
Selective ghrelin receptor agonist. Investigated for its high specificity and minimal cross-activity.
01 · Overview
Ipamorelin is a five-residue peptide — Aib-His-D-2-Nal-D-Phe-Lys-NH₂ — developed by Novo Nordisk in the late 1990s as a growth hormone secretagogue. Unlike earlier members of the class (GHRP-2, GHRP-6), ipamorelin binds the ghrelin receptor with high affinity while producing negligible cortisol, aldosterone, or prolactin response in published models.
That selectivity made it a reference ligand for GH-pulsatility research. Alvar supplies ipamorelin as the acetate salt in single-use 5 mg vials, with HPLC-MS verification and an endotoxin screen below 0.1 EU/mg per lot.
