01 · Overview

About GHK-Cu.

GHK-Cu is the copper(II) complex of the naturally occurring tripeptide Gly-His-Lys, first isolated from human plasma in 1973. Plasma concentrations decline substantially with age — from ~200 ng/mL at age 20 to ~80 ng/mL by 60.

Research literature has extensively characterized its effects on skin remodeling, collagen synthesis, fibroblast migration, and gene-expression patterns related to wound healing. The copper redox activity is silenced when the ion is complexed with GHK, which allows non-toxic copper delivery into cells. Widely used under INCI name 'Copper tripeptide-1' in cosmetic research.
