Synthetic thymosin β-4 fragment. Extensively studied in wound-healing and vascular research.
01 · Overview
TB-500 is a synthetic equivalent of thymosin β-4 (Tβ4), a 43-amino-acid peptide first isolated from the thymus. The full-length peptide — not the truncated Ac-SDKP or Ac-LKKTETQ fragments sometimes sold under the same name — is what Alvar supplies.
Tβ4 is one of the most abundant intracellular proteins in vertebrates. Its actin-sequestering activity and downstream effects on cell migration have made it a reference compound in wound-healing, vascular, and cardiac regeneration literature across three decades.
